On the Use of Arsenic in Periodic and Skin Diseases

For the last three years I have been treating intermittent fevers in Bengal and the Punjab with doses of liquor arsenicalis, and am now in a position to speak contidently on the subject of its beneficial action as an antiperiodic and nervertoner, and advocate its employment as a safe and successful remedy in large dispensary practice. I have used it with the happiest results in several cases of very obstinate intermittent fevers which had resisted the administration of quinine. Its unequivocal efficacy, cheapness, and absence of taste do unhesitatingly well adapt it for patients of every age and rank in all countries.
